"Serenata" is the first single from the anticipated latest release "Standards" by Yotam Silberstein, one of the leading jazz guitarists of his generation. It’s a beautiful tune, originally composed in 1947 by Leroy Anderson (Sleigh Ride), with the most famous version sung by Nat King Cole. Here Silberstein and his stellar group have brought the tune back down to earth. His guitar playing is almost conversational, with the legendary Billy Hart providing aggressive drum interludes and the world renowned John Patitucci adding his elegant bass stylings. This stellar rhythm section makes it possible for Yotam to sound whimsical. The fact that he’s able to do this without ever straying too far from the central melody – while making it seem effortless – is something only the most dexterous musicians can pull off.
